The USDF Handler Clinic is a two-day educational event focusing on the handling of sport horses for competition or inspection. This clinic is open to amateurs, professionals, and young riders. Covered during the weekend will be handling techniques, business strategies for promoting yourself as a professional handler, and addressing safety and consistency with handling and competing young horses. Featuring Kevin Reinig, Christine Smith, and Melissa Creswick.

Kevin Reinig is the current USDF Vice President and also serves on the USDF Regional Championships Committee, USDF Sport Horse Committee and the USEF Dressage Sport Committee.

Kevin and his wife, Ericka, own and run KEFA Performance Horses in Wilton, CA where they specialize in training horses and riders of all levels and traveling to many shows, including national the Young Horse Championships and US Dressage Finals.

Christine Smith has served as a member of the USDF Sport Horse Committee since 2021 and is the owner of Wildest Expectation Farm in Stephens City, VA where she breeds, trains, shows, and sells Selle Francais and Danish Warmblood horses. Christine has been showing in-hand since 1995, winning the Amateur Handler class in 1996 with a weanling filly. She became a professional handler in 1997 and won Handler of the Year at Devon in 2013 and 2015. Christine retired from handling in 2022, but still gives handling clinics and is a flight groom.

Melissa Creswick is a long-time member of the USDF Sport Horse Committee. She is a licensed USEF ‘S’ dressage judge and an ‘R’ Western dressage judge and has earned her USDF Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals.
